Climate Chance is an annual gathering of non-state actors based on the promotion of a multi-stakeholder dialogue and concrete actions, with a special attention given to major issues such as financing for action, the convergence of the climate and development agendas, the importance of a territorial approach, etc.

This year, the Climate Chance Summit will take place from the 11th to the 13th of September 2017 in Agadir, Morocco and one plenary session will be dedicated to finance.

This plenary session will seek to clarify the progress made in terms of access to finance by non-state actors and the alignment of all local financial flows with a 2°C trajectory following the axes of work identified by the Climate Chance Financing Coalition, which are to:
1. Create an enabling environment to financing local and sub-national climate action;
2. Identify, structure and plan investment needs, design suitable climate-compatible projects;
3. Develop a wide range of financing instruments that responds to the diversity of actors, needs and development contexts.

Among the panelists, Marine de Bazelaire (Head of Corporate Sustainability at HSBC France) and Hamid Tawfiki (Chief Executive Officer at CDG Capital) are invited to present the work of the initiative and of the Work Stream 3 on City-level Climate Smart Approaches and Financial Instruments.
