Climate risk management and transition plans
This webinar, organised in collaboration with the European Investment Bank (EIB) Group, covered climate risk management and the use of transition plans by financial institutions. The event started with a presentation from UN Environment’s Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) on emerging practices in transition planning, followed by a presentation from the Network of Central Banks and Supervisors for Greening the Financial System (NGFS) of considerations for EMDEs on transition plans, on transition plans and target-setting, and on the interactions between climate scenario analysis and transition plans. Instituto Clima e Sociedade (iCS) also presented how national development banks can address climate risks. In the second part of the webinar, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the European Investment Bank (EIB) shared their experience with the assessment of climate risk and transition plans of their partner financial institutions.
