Ukrgasbank is a universal bank with focus on green finance. ⅓ of the bank’s customer loan portfolio is green, allowing to avoid 1.4 million tons of CO2 emissions a year. The bank channels its sustainable efforts in the following main areas: renewable energy, energy efficiency, environment and medicine. The bank aims to align its activities with the UN SDGs and Paris Agreement goals.

The bank has established a dedicated technical office employing energy engineers, energy efficiency and environment specialists, as well as Environmental and Social Risk Management System to review sustainable projects. The bank uses special tools provided by a partner IFI to calculate CO2 emissions reduction.
